Day 01

Arrival at Kathgodam / Pantnagar

Transfer to the Binsar rest house, enroute explore the Kasar Devi temple near Almora, continue your journey to Binsar

Settle in the rest house

Day 02

Exploration of the area - start early morning, walk to the “Zero-point”, Himalayan sunrise view

A great time and place for bird watching

Breakfast at rest house

A downhill trek to the Gaunap village(3km). Gaunap is a small village on the eastern slopes of the Binsar sanctuary, chance to spot Mountain goat and Barking deer.  Reach there by late lunch, accommodation in the village home stay.

A short birdwatching trail

Hot Pahadi Breakfast

A beautiful trek through forest, explore the Katdhara village in between, have a hot tea & snacks with Pahadi chutney, time to explore yourself, experience the silence of the forest, it’s an 8 km trek to reach Dhaulchhina.

Explore the Vridh Jageshwar area and temple

A beautiful trek from Vridh Jageshwar to Jageshwar through deodar forest, explore the temple and surrounding area.

Easy morning

Drive to “Choli ki Jaali”, one of the great viewpoints in Mukteshwar, a hotspot of rock climbing & rapelling, hike up to the hilltop, visit Mukteshwar Mahadev temple.

Drive to the Sunkiya village road head.

Explore the Himalayan village, settle in village houses, experience the Himalayan village life, work in the village kitchen and fields, have a delicious Kumaoni meal.

 Reach back to the camp/ homestay in the evening

Binsar is a peaceful wildlife sanctuary surrounded by the thick oak and pine forest, winters are famous for the great range of Himalayan views, the place is known for bird life. The sparkling sunrise view from the Binsar “Zero point” can be the highlight, walks around the thick forest explore the small villages and life around the jungle.  

Jageshwar is the centre of our trails. The major attraction is the temple complex, the temple range in age from 8th (early Katyuri Dynasty) century to 18th (Chand Dynasty) century the area surrounded by the dense Devdaar forest, a beautiful downhill walk from Vridh Jageshwar to Jageshwar is worth exploring.

Mukteshwar is one of the highest ridges in the middle Himalayan region, famous for the panoramic view of the snow coverd mountains. The region in covered with thick Oak and Rhododendron Forest, and the best place to experience the village life, the villages in the region are covered with orchards of apple, plum, peach, pears etc.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Binsar is from October to November and February to April. During these months, the weather is pleasant, and the skies are clear, offering excellent views of the Himalayas.

Climate

A temperate climate, with cool summers and chilly winters. During summer (April to June), the temperature ranges from 15°C to 25°C, in winter (October to February), temperatures can drop below freezing, and the area may experience snowfall.
