An
exciting mix, this trek commences at
Almora, the erstwhile capital of the
Chand rulers of Kumaon and now one of
the largest townships in Kumaon. From
Almora the trek winds through the jungles
of Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary with breathtaking
views of Kumaon-Garhwal Himalayas. The
last place on our trek is Jageshwar
known for its 10th- 14th century cluster
of stone Shiva temples and a dense deodar
forest, with some of the trees more
than 500 years old.
This
trek covers the more important destinations
in the Kumaon Himalayas. The trek
is fairly gradual and takes you through
various villages and jungle areas.
Halts are well planned and the mix
is a heady one with spectacular views,
quaint villages, temples and wildlife
alongwith the distinct places you
camp overnight. |
