Camp Purple, Mukteshwar

Location : Fifty kilometers from Nainital, Camp Purple is perched on the Mukteshwar ridge in the Sargakhet village. Mukteshwar literally means ‘Abode of Shiva’ and at 7290 ft. is one of the highest ridges in central Himalayas. Camp Purple is surrounded by apple and peach orchards and its name is inspired by the color which blends perfectly with nature as the sun sets (or rises) over the snow covered mountains.

Possible action : Here, unlike the more popular hill stations, you will find thickly forested hills which offer a variety of adventure & fun activities. The awe inspiring ‘chauli ki Jaali’ cliffs for a day of rock climbing, rappelling & jumaaring, hidden waterfalls for tyrolene traverse and a cool splash, sun drenched meadows ideal for archery & kite flying and a personal basketball court at the campsite. Mukteshwar is a walkers’ paradise, you can explore trails leading to beautiful mountain villages & fruit orchards, visit quaint village marts, bathe in secret forest pools or pitch your tent overnight in a silent silver fir forest.
Wildrift also has a team of professional paragliding pilots who are passionate about flying. So from September to March, we offer tandem flights at camp Purple, Mukteshwar apart from paragliding courses from Ranikhet for people who wish to learn to fly.
